Athletic Director Jeff Parcells and Medway High School Principal John Murray wish to recognize Medway Girls Basketball Head Coach Joe Iannone following his 200th career win.
Coach Iannone achieved the milestone with a win at North Attleborough on Dec. 29. He was presented with a plaque and game ball by Director Parcells at a following home game in January.
“Congratulations to Coach Iannone on this exciting achievement,” Athletic Director Parcells said. “He is a positive leader for the team and is a great representation of Medway Athletics.”
Throughout the 15 years Iannone has coached in Medway, he has led the team to league championships in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The Mustangs also won the Sectional Championship in 2020 and were State Semifinalists in 2022.
“Coach Iannone’s passion is beyond anything I’ve ever seen. He is not afraid to make a tough call if it benefits the team,” said Junior Captain Olivia Melanson. “He has helped me to improve my leadership skills and pushes me to go out of my comfort zone. He is constantly evolving his coaching style to fit the team.”
The team is currently tied for first place in the Tri-Valley League – Small and is ranked second in the MIAA Division 3 state rankings.
