MEDWAY — Principal John Murray is pleased to announce that 40 students in the Medway High School Class of 2024 are among those statewide to receive a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship this year.
The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship is a merit-based program that provides a credit toward tuition for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university. The award amount differs based on the student’s chosen school.
This scholarship is available to students whose MCAS performance puts them in the top 25% of their district. To be eligible, students must score in the Advanced category on one of three high school state assessment tests (English Language Arts, Mathematics, or Science and Technology/Engineering) and score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the remaining two high school state assessment tests. Students take the MCAS tests in the spring of their sophomore year.
The students were recognized during the high school’s morning announcements on Nov. 16.
“Congratulations to this group of seniors on this achievement,” Principal Murray said. “This is a distinguished award that represents their determination and commitment to academic success.”
